I can't waiting to see . . . .

if I am going to work today or not. LOL This is the only day I am not scheduled to work. I have Swing Vote, with Kevin Costner, to watch if I don't work, thanks to Redbox free Monday code.

Would you believe someone already dinged the new car. I parked so carefully yesterday at school, where only one car would be on the passenger side. Luckily there is no indentation only, chipped paint. It's near the rear of the car but you can see it. Called the dealership they are ordering me touch up paint. No more driving the car to school, back to the truck.

If I don't work today, I have to go back to the dealership. They have signs all over the showroom that the sales tax is a tax credit for 2009 but on the contract it doesn't break out the sales tax.

I ventured into Shop Rite yesterday, they just opened here in Maryland. What great sales. I had coke coupons that were expiring today, I was handing them out to people who were picking up 12 packs. I got 4 12-packs and a 8-pack of bottles for $5.00 can't beat that. I will be shopping here once a week for their loss leaders only.

Last week of school before Spring Break

Finally drove the new car yesterday. I love it! It handles so much nicer than the mini-van. I do miss the mini-van but it was time to move on.

We came up with a way to keep our monthly expenses down. . . Bob has a stock option plan that he can cash out. That will pay the motorcycle off and put some money back into our checking account. Then I need to file our amended taxes and that money will cover the lasts payments of the truck. That means we will only paying out $74 more a month for the car. Works for me. We are even going to try and put more money down each month to pay it off sooner.

This is the last week before Spring Break. So far I have three full days and one half day of work. Friday is a 1/2 day but I get paid for a full day, since it is a scheduled 1/2 day of school.

Got my coupons somewhat organized yesterday, thanks to the girls. We save $30! Woo Hoo. We just got Shop-Rite in our area and they double coupons, so I might start shopping loss leaders again. I stopped driving all over when gas prices were going up but now that they are lower, I might start making the rounds again. Shop-Rite has the best deal on coke products this week and I have some coupons that expire tomorrow, so I am there this afternoon.

We did it - we bought a new car!

The local Toyota dealership told us that they would match Carmax pricing, which they did. They tried to low ball us on our trade-in of the minivan but we came home from lunch and did our own research at Edmunds.com and found that they were trying to mess with us. So we got $2500 for the minivan, we were hoping for $3500 but that's okay considering they started out at $1700 for a trade-in. So now we are the owners of a 2009 Toyota Corolla.

Bob will drive the car when he can't ride his motorcycle to work. When he can ride his motorcycle I will take the car, to save the miles on the truck. Anxious to see what insurance rates change to. Using his motorcycle he saved 14,000 miles on the truck. The funny thing is that when he traded his motorcycle in two weeks ago, he got more of a trade-in for the motorcycle then we did for the mini-van. Oh well, what can you do.

We thought about trying to sell the mini-van out right but in today's economy, we didn't think it would be a good idea.

We brought it home in the rain, so no pictures yet. The next 7 months are going to be tight because we still have 7 more payments on the truck, once they are done, we can breathe a little better. We got our payment to be $170 for 5 years thanks to being able to put a nice down payment on it. But now we are going to have to build our savings account up again. So I really need to get serious about couponing, I have been slacking with working so much.

I am going to discipline myself not to take my laptop to gymnastics one night a week until I get all my coupons sorted and caught up. I was trying a method of putting them in alpha order but that was too tedious. I am back to sorting my category, this will be helpful for Bob also.

Took Bob into Aldi's yesterday on the way home. This was his first visit. He was impressed. He is came on trying more of their products, if it will save us money.

We need it, but I hate it being on weekends. I heard the rain hitting the windows, I love that sound. It always makes me want to curl under the covers and go back to sleep.

But

I can't because we are going car shopping today. We want to trade the van in while we can still get a good trade-in and downsize. Hoping for a $3500 trade-in.

We also were going over our budget and we have been a little lax in our spending and not using coupons. So we are going to be tightening our belts some. I have a ton of coupons to print out, I just have been lazy about doing it. Will have to get back to it since we are going to have two car payments for 7 months. The truck will be paid off in September. Woo Hoo!

Kristina did well at the dentist, she doesn't have to go back until the end of June to get the other side/tooth filled. She was loving life because she got two Rita's to eat, since she had to eat soft food.

We are car shopping tomorrow. We are torn between getting a newer/used mini van (ours is 10 years old) or going with a smaller vehicle since it looks like gas is creepy up again. We only travel once a year, so I can't see getting a mini van just for that. When we do travel it is to a campground that usually has water, so Bob wants to tow his boat the next time. I told him the boat could hold all the stuff if we didn't have the mini-van, you gotta think out of the box sometimes. So we will be looking at Toyota's tomorrow.

I'm suppose to work this afternoon, not one of my favorite classes, I think I am going to just stay home and work the phones since it is just 1/2 day. I can make the same money at home.

Need to make an Aldi's run, then home to work and print out coupons, etc. I love my laptop but it is not hooked up to a printer. We have been looking into a wireless printer but haven't done anything about it.

2 hour long dentist appointment today

No work today because Kristina has a 2 hour dentist appointment to get some cavities filled and teeth sealed. We have to go early because they need to administered the pre-med in the office. Our dentist is so cool! He always wants the kids to have great visits so he does everything to make them comfortable!

Quiet Day - I think

Since state testing is still going on, so far no work BUT that could all change with a phone call. My plans for today IF I don't work is to watch Twilight by myself, then to work the phones. I have a gymnastics meeting this evening, then I will hit Target to start getting things for the girls Easter Baskets. I don't see a lot of candy this year, woo hoo!

Bob, really enjoyed watching Twilight and he said he would watch it again. I watched the deleted scenes and the extended scenes yesterday. Bob's brother came by yesterday but he didn't want to watch it with me. LOL Now I want the soundtrack CD because Robert P. has some music on their that was played during the movie. April is getting the soundtrack in her Easter basket.

I also bought a Singer sewing machine with my birthday money. Mine was old, it was my mom's and it was all rusty, etc. I don't know if I will make clothes at first but it will be helpful to turn jeans into capri's for Kristina, etc. I also want to turn her Tinkerbell tshirts, that she has outgrown, into a quilt for her. I also want to do he same thing with some of my Raven's tshirts. So now, I just have to figure out where to put it.

Can't wait! April wants to get it at midnight - I said no way. I want to get it at Target and they are not opening early for it, so I will be going first thing in the morning. Bob and I took a facebook quiz. I am Bella and he is Edward. He hasn't even seen the movie. LOL

I'm in pre-k today, I hope the teacher is back today. She has been sick the past two days. Today is an early dismissal so we will have very short classes to get both classes complete by 1 p.m. I think I might be coming down with an ear infection, no fever yet, but my ears really hurt. I can't remember the last time I felt this type of pain. I got water in my ear the other night and I don't think it all came out.

Then Kristina and I are making our Rita's run, as our mommy and me time!

April gets to work tonight. Her idea to work on Friday nights, since one of the other stylists has decided to bring her 8 year old daughter in to work on Saturdays. A little birdie has told us she plays more than works but what can you do. I like how April took it upon herself to see if she could work on Friday nights. So she will work from 4 - 9.

I just cancelled my Amazon order for my Twilight DVD 2 DVD set. The reason they are not planning to ship the DVD until March 25th. I can get a three DVD set at Target for the same price and have it the same day. I'm very disappointed. When I ordered the Jonas Brothers CD, from Best Buys, I got it the day before it was released in the stores. Comcast is even jumping in and showing it on pay-per-view the same day it is released. I'm curious to see if they are going to bump the price up because of all the hype.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I hope everyone has a great day! We made very cool shamrock hats in Art yesterday, and yes I made one. I will be wearing it proudly today while I am in the library. Showing my Irish pride with all my pre-k friends.

I am so bummed. I wore the amethyst bracelet yesterday that Bob gave me for Christmas. This is the only the 2nd time I have worn it because I just got it back from the jewelers because we were having clasp problems and then it kept popping stones. Well, I was cooking dinner last night when I suddenly realized it wasn't on my wrist. Naturally, Kristina and I ran to the library and Aldi's after school. Called the library, they hadn't seen it. Couldn't get the number of Aldi's from directory assistance, they only had the corporate number. So I ran there, talk to the gals. They hadn't seen it and one did sweep after I left. I did re-trace my foot steps and looked at the items that I picked up. Ran up to school and one of the evening custodians was there so he let me in the classroom, it wasn't there. Hoping the pre-K teacher found it and turned it into the office. I even stopped into the library.

The clasp had a safety clasp on it, well it didn't hold up. Cross your fingers for me that it is at school. I'm going in a couple of minutes earlier to check. I am just sick. Naturally, I am not going to be able to get it for the great deal Bob did. I loved the bracelet. I was going to complain to Zales about how I had already lost two stones and had the bracelet replaced once because the 2nd clasped would not come off my arm without popping a stone. We explored putting a different clasp on it but they wanted $260 to replace the clasp. That it was Bob paid for the bracelet, back at Christmas time. If I find the bracelet, they will hear from me, especially when I take it back to get another clasp on it. I am sick!!!! He tells me not to worry but it's the principal of the whole thing. It's a beautiful bracelet that is poorly made.

Still feel like crap!!!

The only thing constructive I did yesterday was the dishes and drove Bob to get his new motorcycle. His old one was a 2005 Yamaha and he was going to trade it in for a 2008 used model. But once he got there for another $500 he could get a brand new one. His bike saved 14,000 miles on the truck, driving to and from work. It really helped last summer when gas prices were so high. So his payments are $76 a month.

Then I came home and slept for 14 hours and I still feel like crap.

I hope I feel better soon, I am suppose to be in pre-K tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD, Arthur Hampshire - AKA Pete.

He left this earth in 1984, and I learned in 2004 that he was not my biological dad BUT he will always be my daddy! Today would have been his 78th birthday. Dad overcame so much in his life. He fell off of a building when he was just 18 years old, he had no feeling from the waist down but he learned how to walk - thanks to the determination of his mother. He then lost of one of his legs to gangrene but that didn't slow him down. The doctors were amazed that he had children because of not having a lot of control of his bladder and bowels, etc. Little did the doctors know that I wasn't his, but my brother is a true miracle. My dad was the neighborhood dad, all the kids were always at our house playing in the backyard and he was right there with them. He rode a bike, he went bowling with us . . .Dad didn't not know the word "No" or "I can't".

I need to call my brother today, just to say "hi"!
